Hi, today I tried to access my Brave web browser, but on websites like YouTube or games like Roblox, I got this message: “This website cannot provide a secure connection.”
I’m sure it’s a problem with Brave and not my connection because I don’t get this error on other browsers like Google and I have internet access.
“Error Code 3: 0x80040154 – System Level” is generally a Windows error.
There’s so many things to check as it’s usually a DCOM class related issue with Windows itself. But let’s start with basics, as I’ve seen SSL errors pop up in odd places when your computers clock is “not quite right”. Is your computers date and time, including the time zone, correctly set? If even the timezone is off, the UTC time will not agree with the server and throw SSL related errors. Sometimes one browser may work while the other doesn’t, but generally start there.
But being you’re also seeing 0x80040154 in your Brave About page, it generally means Brave has stopped updating as well due to a Windows related problem.
Can you please try re-downloading the Brave installer and running it? This won’t overwrite your current install but will instead just install the latest update.
