Description of the issue: This free URL used to accept BRAVE as the browser. This changed about 3 weeks ago. Now it rejects BRAVE and suggests others. Chrome used to work and still does. Brave used to work and now doesn’t.
URL is https://fbstreams.pm/stream/football
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Paste URL into search box and get result (OK)
Select a football match to watch and you get the screen as shown
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!): See screenshot
Expected result: Stream match after clicking away ads banner and selecting ‘Play’ icon (can be a bit fiddly here with redirects but I always managed to stream successfully after a few tries)
Reproduces how often: Rejects BRAVE BROWSER 100% now. Accepts Chrome but with a lot more URL redirections to adverts
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu): Window 11 Pro #23H2 + Brave v 1. 3.91
I don’t understand your reply. Can you explain, in layman’s terms, what your reply means. I believe your reference to ‘iOS’ is an acronym for Apple software but I’m using Windows 11 Pro on a PC.
@fanboynz and @shivan just tested and it seems they are directly blocking Brave. It doesn’t matter if Shields is enabled. I tried with fbstreams.pm##+js(brave-fix) but that doesn’t make any difference.
The notice that comes up when viewing from Brave is Vous pouvez essayer avec d'autres navigateurs ; nous recommandons Chrome, Safari et Edge. or You may try with different browsers; we recommend Chrome, Safari, and Edge. The English is what appears when I have Shields enabled and other language when Shields is disabled.
It’s not clear to me how to reproduce the issue. With Shields up, when I click on the Live Stream Now button, nothing happens. With Shields down, an ad opens up in a new tab. I never get the “You may try with different browsers” message. Maybe @fanboynz will have better luck.
@shivan what you explained is exactly the issue. Can’t really navigate with Shields up. And if you get direct link to a stream or navigate to it with Shields down, you get the messaging saying to try on a different browser.
Visiting on Chrome it loads with no issues.
Vivaldi at least loads the player, but if I have adblocking enabled it just constantly does a bunch of popups when you click on the screen. But with adblock disabled it will play the stream.
So basically, this site is just giving the big middle finger to adblocking, but especially to Brave.
