This site cannot be reached

**Description of the issue: Brave website blocks a website
**How can this issue be reproduced? The website concerned: https://concave-eraser.local/ is unreachable.

  1. trying to access a webpage on Brave browser gives “This side can’t be reached” ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE
  2. Entering the same webpage on different browser (Safari) is successful
  3. Meaning the router settings are good, the issue is within Brave settings, can you please assist on how to correct the Brave settings so I can access again a given website

**Expected result: Brave website settings blocking access to a given website, I have no idea how to set the settings correctly which would allow access to this website.

**Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.78.97 Chromium: 136.0.7103.93 (Official Build) (arm64)

**Additional Information: I can open the same website in a different web browser, Safari for example.

@JS25

I have “enabled” the localhost access permission prompt however even after a restart of the laptop unsuccessful, Brave browser still gives “This side can’t be reached” ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

In a Brave Browser New Window go to the On exit tab at: brave://settings/clearBrowserData ← There, DISABLE both: Cookies and other site data and Site and Shields Settings.

Purpose of the following steps, is to try and clear the path for JavaScript data transfers between your Local Area Network (“LAN”) server and Brave Browser. Using 192.168.0.23 as an example of the IP address for your LAN server . . .

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to the Brave Browser (“BB”) settings page: brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2F192.168.0.23

At the BB settings page, scroll down to, and set, JavaScript to Allow.

(Note that the long, leading portion of that address, on up to the beginning of the IP address, is: brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2F ← a fixture, if you will, to which you can add other IP addresses, hostnames, and domain names. Thus:

Repeat those steps for concave-eraser.local ← ie, use BB settings page: brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fconcave-eraser.local

Next, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to BB settings page: brave://settings/content/javascript and scroll down that page to Allowed to use javascript There, enter [*.]192.168.0.23 as the site . . . but do not Enable Current Private session only.

Repeat those steps for entering [*.]concave-eraser.local

Exit / Quit BB. Restart the computer.

When the computer is fully restarted, run BB and test the browser’s connection to the LAN server; testing each of:

Also test via a Brave Browser New Windowbrave://settings/security and, if User secure DNS is ENABLED, then set Select DNS provider to OS default (when available). And, test User secure DNS → DISABLED.

Hi 289wk, I have followed the steps above without success even uninstalled Brave Browser and downloaded again, followed the same steps above without success. (no issues to open the links on Safari browser)
When I used Brave somewhere Sept 2024 I was able to open the above websites for quite some time, until I think early Januari I couldn’t access the websites anymore, so I would guess this started after an auto update of the Brave browser?
Thank you for your help, much appreciated.
