I cannot remember when this first occurred. When I am on Slickdeals.net and click on a link leading to Homedepot.com I get the message, “This site can’t be reached”. When clicking on other Slickdeal links to other stores they work fine.
When I right click and copy the link, open a new tab and paste it the home depot page comes up fine.
Clearly there is something Brave doesn’t like about Home Depot. Anyone?
One possibility: I copied / pasted both the slickdeals and homedepot links you included into a text editor. Both are http: / neither is https: I didn’t attempt to visit either.
Brave’s settings brave://settings/security enable users to toggle whether or not to connect to http: (‘insecure’) sites.
On this topic, Chromium (and hence, Brave) will soon be deprecating the padlock icon that’s now displayed in the address bar if / when a user visits https (as distinct from http) sites. Whether or not users understand the distinction between http and https is a good question.
