The repository is not signed

Hi guys! I can’t download neither Brave Beta nor Brave Dev because it shows that the repositories are not signed. My OS is Pop!_Os which is based on Ubuntu 18.10.

@pewpew, looking into this, apologies for the late response.

@pewpew Ubuntu steps wont work on your distro. Could you please try the Mint 17+ steps and check

#4

If you mean lsb_release -sc doesn’t give me the release name, that’s not true: both commands grep DISTRIB_CODENAME /etc/upstream-release/lsb-release || grep DISTRIB_CODENAME and lsb_release -sc provide correct release name “cosmic” as you can see in apt output Err:5 https://brave-browser-apt-beta.s3.brave.com cosmic InRelease.

Well, I actually downloaded the tar archive and just run the browser from there so it’s not that important I guess…

#5

Same problem on my Ubuntu 18.10 machines. (BTW: The Mint steps have the same effect as the Ubuntu ones, as reported above.) Are there any cosmic packages available?

#6

Cosmic is not yet supported as its not on LTS. For now the workaround is to manually download the deb file and install.

#7

Can you please share the download link to deb file?

#8

Hi @avndp,

You can download .deb file from GitHub. Here’s the link for latest stable release https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v0.56.12
