The Brave Rewards server did not respond

When I try to use the QR code with my phone the following error is returned. “The Brave Rewards server did not respond. Please try again in a moment. (1)” I’ve waited days and the issue persists.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open the desktop app and open the rewards QR code
  2. Open the mobile app and allow the app access to the camera
  3. Point camera at the QR code on the desktop

Version 1.19.92 Chromium: 88.0.4324.152 (Official Build) (64-bit)
