The accelerometer is not supported on mobile devices

Description of the issue:
The accelerometer is not supported by the mobile browser on any android device.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. enter https://lamplightdev.github.io/compass/
  2. it will check if accelerometer is enabled or if browser can access it.

Expected result:
The compass should work based on the mobile orientation.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.24.86

Mobile Device details
Samsung S21 Ultra 5g

Additional Information:
The compass website is only for testing, as I am trying to integrate the accelerometer functionality in my own site. Is there any way in a possible update that the browser will support the accelerometer?

Thank you!

@darkpredator19,
Thank you for reaching out to us. This is a weird one – I’m not entirely sure what is blocking the site from detecting orientation. Even with Shields down it says that it’s not supported. I had expected Chrome to show the same issue but it appears to work just fine there as well.

Let me reach out to some team members for additional input.
