Tabs display too small and not really functioning

I installed the latest update and migrated my tabs and bookmarks. But my tabs are tiny and squished together and I cannot see where a new tab opens. Also, I do not see an indication of which tab is in use–the tab isn’t highlighted. I can’t make sense of this. Trying to upload a screenshot. Brave%20tabs
