Tabs Disappearing After Browser-Restart (Fix and Request)

There are a lot of closed threads about “Tabs Disappearing” and me having had the issue at max 3 times a year.

I just found out, that when you use a tab suspender extension, and it does get an Update or if you have a Browser-Update, that this might cause all of your tabs to disappear suddenly.

I would love for Brave-Browser to have a built-in tab suspender where you could set your own suspend timings for tabs. Chrome does have a suspend function, but it seems that you can’t set your own suspend time intervals.

For now, I refuse to risk getting all my tabs nuked again. So I use the Sloth extension, which simply discards all tabs upon closing the Browser and doesn’t load them automatically after opening the browser again.

My workarounds for the “Tabs Lost” issue:

  1. Create a folder named “TABS” in the bookmarks collection, and store the Title and Link combinations as bookmarks therein.

  2. I use an AppleScript, that I posted in a reply (#4):

Browser session not restored after upgrade to Mac OS Sequoia (all tabs lost) - #4 by 289wk

And you might use that script as a rough outline for creating your own script(s) that produce(s) an HTML file (“Export_Brave_Tabs_to_Text_File.html” ) on the computer’s desktop.
