As a Firefox user who just migrated to Brave, I’m missing one feature that was important to me. Firefox calls this setting “delayHidingAudioPlayingIconMS”, and what this does is controlling the time it takes for the tab audio muting UI control to disappear when audio playback has stopped.
As someone who often has many tabs open in many windows, and heavily relies on the ability to quickly mute and unmute specific tabs, this is an important feature. If I’m having a tab open in the background that plays any audio, and I need to switch focus from listening to that tab, to a different tab, I would use the tab mute and unmute button.
However, if the tab I’m trying to mute or unmute, has a period of silence, that button disappears. I know that as soon as the audio starts again, I will have several audio streams playing simultaneously until I find the tab again, and mute it.
Being able to customize this UI timeout would fix this problem. As it is now, that button seems to disappear after 3000 ms of silence, which is way too fast.
