Synchronization from one Windows PC to another Windows PC does not start

Hello everyone here… :waving_hand:t2:

I have 2 Windows PC, both run with Windows 11. At the start-up PC I switched on the synchronization and also at the target PC. The synchronization chain is also established and set up.

However, nothing arrives on the target PC, neither bookmarks, open tabs or other things.

Why is there no synchronization even though the necessary chain has been activated and set up? :thinking:

Can you please confirm that both devices are listed on the Sync chain by going to brave://settings/braveSync/setup?

If they are, can you please try simply removing one device from the chain, then re-adding it and see if this triggers the Sync to go through properly?

Everything is already set up exactly as it should be. Even after removal and re-setup of the sync chain unfortunately nothing happens… :man_shrugging:t2:

Can you please share a screenshot of your brave://sync-internals page with me in the DM I just sent you so I can get a better idea of what is going on under the hood?

The errors are from App settings and Extension settings types.

I wasn’t able to reproduce this with Youtube, Twitter Web apps and 1Password, Google Translate, uBlock User-Agent Switcher extensions synced, but the number of their entries was 0.

@Garde-InfoMedia, do you have some some extensions or Web apps you with some non-default settings?

The workaround should be to disable types Web apps (PWAs) and Extensions at brave://settings/braveSync/setup, or if Sync everything was selected - choose Customize sync and select all types except App settings and Extension settings.

I assigned the issue to myself to investigate this in future https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/46983.
