Sync multiple profiles

I made an account just to voice my support for profile sync across devices!

If this is something you are interested in, please take the time to vote on the requests that @bencodesall had mentioned: Sync multiple profiles - #16 by bencodesall

It would be really nice to have:
Profile 1 → Sync chain 1
Profile 2 → Sync chain 2

With each of those profiles being synced across devices.

The use case I have is this:
I easily have 100 to 200 unique work-related bookmarks that are constantly in-flux for various dev work. In addition, I also have however many hundreds of personal bookmarks.

Complicating things, I have multiple work devices and multiple personal devices. Exporting/Importing bookmarks would be a constant task. The sync chain at least gets me everything everywhere…but it’s incredibly messy.

So, when I’m say, sharing my screen with clients, I don’t want them looking at or getting distracted by personal bookmarks about video games or whatever else. It makes it seem like I’m “screwing around at work”, even though it’s info for personal devices. I want them to only see the stuff that is relevant to work stuff.

But here’s the kicker! I still want that personal data, from that personal profile available to switch to! It is helpful because maybe in my free time I found an important article that I want to share with people the next day. I don’t want to email it to myself, or text it, or load some work-related program onto my personal phone(!), or some other janky method.

Instead, I just want to switch over to my synced personal profile for a minute, grab the bookmark I found on my personal profile last night, paste it into work chat, then switch back to my synced work profile.

Conversely, maybe I’m on vacation and something catastrophic happened and they need to know what services to start looking at right now. Unless I brought my work computer with me, I’ll be sitting there and trying to parse through however many hundreds of personal bookmarks to find the right thing. Instead, I could: switch to my synced work profile → find the folder → find the bookmark → copy/paste. It would be much “cleaner and saner” to JUST see my work stuff in the middle of an emergency.

I want this so badly

This is the only thing keeping me from using Brave over Chrome.

Hi, I’ve been wanting to switch from Arc to Brave and this feature would be necessary for me to switch.

I created an account just to upvote all this. Please, you have to implement a profile sync feature. I installed Brave on several devices thinking it would be a basic feature of the browser to my deception after spending so long trying to figure out why it didn’t work.
Weirdly enough though, my mobile phone gets the tab groups sync for some reason. Don’t know why.

fwiw: I gave up trying to keep all of my bookmarks in a single browser a few years ago. I’ve been using raindrop.io for quite a while now and I love the fact that it is independent from Brave or any other browser. I can now use 4-5 different browsers (Brave is still primary) so I can easily / quickly ALT-TAB between apps AND have access to all of my bookmarks. (I felt compelled to do this because at one point “something” broke in Brave (I don’t remember what) and I was forced to switch browsers for a few months.) Just an option / suggestion.

This is an excellent tip / workaround, thank you!

A profile management that works similar to the one of Firefox is mandator for me. My use case is mainly to easily transfer links (that is the main point), the set-up and extensions from on host system to another AND to use the same profile by two or three user-accounts on the same client. With Firefox I can easily place the profile in a folder of my choice, like E:\Data\browserprofile.
So, I will keep track of this function to come with Brave.
I really want to move to Brave.
