Sync is showing duplicate device

Description of the issue:
After reinstalling Brave from scratch, my device appears twice in sync. If I try to remove one of the device, it removes both of them and I have to configure sync again. I tried to leave the sync chain, but still duplicate after configuring sync. Same problem after I tried to ‘reset’ Brave by deleting ~/.config/BraveSoftware and ~/.cache/BraveSoftware

How can this issue be reproduced?
I can’t tell which exact chain of events caused the situation. I had 3 devices (Android, Windows and Linux) and then I removed all devices using Brave on Android. I removed devices because I thought I wouldn’t use Brave anymore, but I decided I should give it an other try. I didn’t try to setup sync on an other device at the moment.

Expected result:
A device should appear once.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.0.1 Chromium: 78.0.3904.108 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Running on Fedora Linux 30

I don’t know if I can reproduce it, but I was able to remove the duplicate.

First I configured sync on Android. There was still the 2 “morgoth.home” device.

Next I removed only one. I waited about 30 minutes before deleting the other.

I reconfigured sync on Linux where I first saw the duplicate. This time the device appears only once.
