So for a while now it would take a while for brave to load my tabs. I admit I have a lot of them. It would usually freeze for a few minutes then the tabs would be loaded. If the app closed I’d have to restart this process which was very tedious but bearable. Recently it was just freezing completely and never loading my tabs after about 15 minutes of use and I couldn’t close or do anything with them. I tried everything short of uninstalling and reinstalling the app. So I made sure to sync everything first then proceeded to clear the app data then sync it to restore everything. The only thing it restored was my bookmarks. I’m glad it did that much but why are all my open tabs gone when I specifically made sure to include “open tabs” in the sync options? I find this unacceptable. I lost all my tabs, hundreds of them. It did not save them to recent tab groups, I checked. They are completely gone. It didn’t save my history either even though I specifically set it to save “history” in options as well. I used to love this browser and now my user experience has been utterly ruined and I’m not hopeful that anything will even be done to rectify the situation.
What does brave wallet have to do with it?
Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, in order to include:
- Brave Browser version numbers
- Operating System version numbers
Admitting to overloading a system, to the point of failure, is an important step - when also willing to proceed in a direction away from repeating the error.
That is what fire fighting training teaches. And, using a computer. Preparing and training for “when the bottom drops out” suddenly pays.
I worked for a computer system where suddenly, the first and second data backup tiers “were just plain gone”. But, we had a third tier still working. Guess how many data backup drives, I use? (And, did we dump the “new, CHEAP, hard drive brand” and return to using the “Known Good One” brand ← Yes.)
So, question: Have you tried disconnecting the Android device from the Brave Sync Chain (“BSC”) or perhaps entirely shutting down the BSC and then examining the other BSC parties, to see if any still present/show your Brave Browser Tabs collection?
Have you been routinely backing up any of those other BSC parties to external drives?
Possibly, you may discover some such collection, and after creating yet another backup of it, to an external drive, you may use the survivor as a base for a whole new BSC that eventually is a pipeline for feeding your tabs collection, back to your Android device.
Good luck; hoping that some effort like that, will work for you.
