Sync Code Issue After Device Reset - Urgent Help Needed

I recently reset my laptop and reinstalled the Brave browser. After reinstalling, I attempted to enter the sync code I generated before the reset, but I am now receiving an error asking me to get a new sync code from my device. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the old sync code due to the device reset. This is preventing me from syncing my data, including important information like saved passwords and browsing history.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Reset the laptop and reinstall Brave.
  2. Attempt to enter the previously generated sync code after reinstalling.
  3. Receive the error asking for a new sync code (but I can’t get it due to the reset).

Reproduces how often:
Every time I try to sync the browser.

Brave Version:
1.74.50

Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question:
Only my laptop with Windows 11 is running Brave; it’s the only device involved in this sync issue.

  • Operating System: Windows 11

  • I have tried entering the sync code multiple times, but the error persists.

Can you please share a screenshot of the exact error message you’re seeing? Also, do you have another laptop/PC or mobile device that you can use to try inputting the Sync code on? I’m curious to know what happens when you try on other devices.

I tested the Sync code on another device, but unfortunately, it’s giving me the same error message. I’ve also captured a screenshot of the error message, which I’m attaching here for your reference.
