Sync Chain breaks after updating

My sync chain keeps resetting after the Brave app updates. I have been dealing with this for about two months, possibly longer.

I have ran several tests to make sure it was the updates. This is also from a fresh factory reset phone. I cleared the temporary cache from the app and the chain was intact. Afterwards, I cleared the hidden cache from the system and the chain was intact. Just earlier today, it updated from Google Play. I went to check and my sync chain had reset. I could only assume this is the cause.

My phone is a Galaxy J7 (2016) and running Android 7.1.1
Brave browser version: 1.0.97
