Sync between Windows pc and Iphone and Ipad

Unable to sync apple devices with the PC. Ipad and Iphone Sync well but neither can read the QR code on the PC. And to try it the other way, on the PC there is no option to insert the word code from the ios devices into Brave.

I’d encourage you to read the 4 posts in the Helpful Info & FAQ Page first:

And none of that worked

I have the same problem. Tried adding my new phone. Both give me different QR codes and Code Words. But neither gives me the option " I have a QR code/Code words"

Ah ok, so maybe not an isolated incident it sounds, I’ll tag/mention some people smarter than me haha @Mattches @Saoiray

cause also:

I’m having the same issues, walked it all the way through. Then dragged my IT husband to do it as well and still didn’t work.

Windows 11
iOS 18.0.1

Unless I’m misunderstanding something here, the issue appears to be what happens after you have started a Sync chain on your desktop device.

First, to ensure we’re all on the same page, I am going to provide clarity for instructions on how to Sync your mobile device to your desktop device after a Sync chain is created on your desktop device. If you have created a Sync chain on your mobile device, please first go to Settings --> Sync on that device and delete the Sync account so that you can start fresh.

  1. On your desktop device, if you haven’t already, go to Menu --> Settings --> Sync and click Start using Sync, you will create a Sync chain. So far so good.

  2. On your mobile device, you also need to go to Menu --> Settings --> Sync but do not start a Sync chain — this will create a new chain separate from the one you just created on your desktop device. Instead, on the initial Sync screen on your mobile device, it should say I have a Sync code as shown below — please tap this option:

  3. Now it will open the QR code scanner you can use to scan the code on your desktop. Alternatively, at the bottom of the panel, you will see the option to Enter code words:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. It appears that the issue was an old sync chain. Cheers.
