Swapping RENDER for SOL - Insufficient SOL

I have only RENDER tokens in my Brave Wallet. I want to swap half of my RENDER tokens for SOL. When I set it up to swap half my RENDER tokens for SOL, it displays “Insufficent SOL Balance” and I cannot proceed further. I am sure I am doing something wrong but can’t figure it out.

Solana Mainnet Beta
Windows 10 PC
Brave version 1.68.131 Chromium 127.0.6533.73 64-bit

I am quite new to this wallet and browser, so perhaps there is something I am missing in the swap process. Any ideas?

Hello - In order to make a transaction on Solana, you’ll need to have SOL in your account to pay the gas fee. You can do this by transferring it from another wallet or purchasing it through an on-ramp provider.

Thank you very much for your response. I suspected it had something to do with the fees but I wasn’t sure how to get SOL without trying to swap for it. This info is helpful.

Hello,

I would like to send some ETH to my Brave Wallet and use that to buy SOL. Is that possible, and if so, can you provide or point me to an explanation on how to accomplish that?

You’ll need to use a bridge to transfer funds over to the Solana network.
