Stream freezes at and Youtube when using a secondary screen and the video size is large

Description of the issue:
Brave doesn’t play streams at and Youtube when Brave opened on a secondary screen and the video size is large enough.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):

  1. Connect a 27-inch secondary screen to a Windows 10 PC.
  2. Open Brave on the secondary screen, and go to or Youtube
  3. Go to any stream.
  4. Enlarge or maximize Brave to make the size of the stream big enough, or make the stream fullscreen.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Stream screen freezes while stream sound keeps playing.
When I shrink Brave to make the stream size small, the stream becomes normal.

Expected result:
Brave plays any streams normally.

Reproduces how often:
100% with fullscreen
Not always without fullscreen

Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 0.66.101 Chromium: 75.0.3770.142 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):

Additional Information:
It happens even if the shield is down.
It also happens with videos and clips which are not live.
It doesn’t happen with Youtube videos which are not live.

In the past few days i also had the same exact problem, except that Youtube always froze in the second screen no matter what.
After looking around the configs i found that disabling Hardware Acceleration ( Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration ) fixed my issue.
I hope that helps.

It is only a temporary fix. Do the Brave devs recognize and will they fix it? I remember the issue occurred from an early version of Brave, and it still occurs even if it is a very critical problem (Youtube and Twitch are used so much, and it is why I can’t move from Google Chrome)

Hello, I got the exactly same problem.
for me, it is a temporary fix as well.
I hope the fix is coming soon that I can switch completely to brave.

any updates ?
Is there an issue on git where I can follow the progress ?

Thank you
