Why do you guy keep resetting auto contribute?
This is the second time in the last couple months you log me out of Uphold, and when I log back in, you have reset auto contribute, and I lose a BAT. I do not wish to have this feature on. I have them off for a reason.
This shouldn’t be happening, ever. The only way it should be enabled after you turn it off is if you or someone using the device is turning it on. If you’re seeing this change, I’d definitely open a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 but also try to share more on which OS, browser version, etc.
Yeah, we get disconnected roughly every 90 days, give or take. It stays connected on the back end for you to receive payments, but it just won’t show you the Uphold balance in the browser or let you tip while disconnected.
No one is using the computers as no one has keys to my room. I think I know what’s happening though. When you log me out of my Uphold, and I don’t realize I am logged out, then I get a Windows 10 update in which causes that blue screen to come up asking you to customize windows which I just skip as I don’t want anything to change, it’s resetting the auto-contribute in Brave. This is the only two common things both computers have when this has happened. I could be wrong, but both times this has happened on both computers were when Uphold logged out, and Wondows update with light blue screen. If that’s not it then Brave is resetting it when I get logged out og Uphold. Either way this needs to be fixed. I never give anyone BAT, and I never change the setting. I know this is automatically set to on upon first set up, but these are first time setup. I’ve been with you guys for years, and I’ve had them off for years, but now twice they have been set to on.
Weird, and yeah, blue screen is never good if you’re getting it. The only thing I can say is to definitely submit that support ticket and try to explain things as you just did. Let them know you’re looking into things and may check if that’s indeed what happens when/if you experience difficulties.
I know Brave will do a courtesy refund a time or two. If they’ve already done that before, I’m not sure if they will help this time around…but it never hurts to try. In the meanwhile, I just will be hoping you can find a solution on whatever is causing it for you.
Not BSOD, I mean the blue screen you get like when install windows or have a huge update. It asks you to set up windows 10 (customize)
I mean this screen.
Also last time they didn’t give me a refund which is why I’m upset it’s happened again, but now on computer two. Last time they said “well it’s on buy default” completely ignoring the fact that it’s been off for years. smh
I just want them to fix this happening. No reason it should be enabling on it’s own.
Oh, weird.
Off topic and you can ignore the question, but kind of curious, any reason in particular you’re not upgrading to Windows 11? I think you can still upgrade for free. I mean, I guess you have until October 2025 before end of life support, but it’s definitely going to be on its way. Windows 11 is solid enough now.
Yeah, it’s odd. Definitely isn’t something it’s meant to happen and shouldn’t be occurring in updates. I am going to tag @Evan123 and maybe even @chriscat on this to see if they are aware of the issue as you’re describing and if they might be willing to do anything. Honestly, I just keep wishing they’d have auto contribute turned off by default.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’m with you on the default bunk. I don’t understand why it’s on by default. Maybe artificially forcing circulation if is geeked if you ask me.
