Detailed description of the behavior:
WinPatrol continually interrupting an attempt to install
Brave VPN Winguard Service

I have paid to use Nord VPN for years (actually used across my whole family in 2 countries) - I have no need for Brave VPN - I wrote software (RT embedded mainly) for 25 years - surely it’s a simple job to detect that a VPN is installed and in use and then to either prevent this installation or for the user to be asked once or as required. I couldn’t find a way quickly to turn this off - and I simply don’t want to waste the time watching interactions with the registry to track down how to switch this off… so after several years of using Brave - I’ve uninstalled it and deleted all my data and gone back to using chrome.

Sorry for the late response here — this is a known complaint/issue and we are working to address it:

I came here to say the same thing. I have a VPN. Stop installing stuff without my consent. I’m tired of finding ways to turn this off. I’m close to saying my experiment with Brave is over. I’m using the Mullvad Browser, Firefox and Brave - in that order.
