Still can't use Ctrl-G in scripts

#1

I already posted about this, but the issue was never properly addressed, and the thread was closed.

The original post is here.

Anyway, Ctrl-G always brings up the find next dialogue, even if the page has a script that should make it do otherwise. Ctrl-F and Ctrl-H do not have this problem.

Testing code below:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
   <head>
      <meta charset="utf-8" />
      <title>Page title</title>
      <script>
         window.onload = function() {
            document.body.addEventListener("keydown", function(evt) {
               if ((evt.keyCode == 71) && (evt.ctrlKey)) {
                  evt.preventDefault();
                  document.body.innerHTML="You pressedd Ctrl-G";
               }
               if ((evt.keyCode == 72) && (evt.ctrlKey)) {
                  evt.preventDefault();
                  document.body.innerHTML="You pressedd Ctrl-H";
               }
            });
         }
      </script>
   </head>
   <body>
      Hello world!
   </body>
</html>

Ctrl-H works. Ctrl-G does not.

This issue is the only thing preventing me from using Brave as my primary browser.
