Speedtest.net Upload test fails with socket error in Brave, other browsers fine

Speedtest.net upload test fails

Steps to Reproduce (additional info):

  1. Go to speedtest.net
  2. Click on the Go button
  3. Wait for the download test to finish.
  4. The upload test will start but fail with what it reports as a socket error.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
After a few seconds the page reports a socket error.

Expected result:
Upload test works.

Reproduces how often:
Every time.

Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 0.58.18 Chromium: 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Works find on Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome. This is not a firewall issue or a problem with my network.

I get the same issue. Download speeds are great. Upload works on other browsers but everytime with brave it produces a socket error.

It’s a shield problem, you need to turn the shields off for speedtest.net, once you’re in the site, click on the brave icon and turn off shields, it will turn off the shields for that site only. I have ublock Origin installed on the browser as well, helps to block ads and stuff on a site where I have to turn off shields.
