Please speed up the process of checking for new releases. It is agonizingly slow – far slower than any other application on my computer.

I was under the impression that on Win10 and Macs they instantly show a notification of newer releases.
It’s much more unfriendly on Linux, I usually have to manually install the .rpm file from Github and scrolling for the Release (the so called stable version) is taxing.
Nope, it’s anything but instant. Both the checking for updates and the downloading take an inordinate amount of time. On Windows 10, too, it’s often easier and faster to download the latest version from the website and install it manually.
