Sometimes new window with Reddit (only with reddit) opens by itself. Its happening in random times. Sometimes 1 time in a week, sometimes few times. It doesn’t depend on what I’m doing at the moment. I’m not trying to download anything. And I don’t use Reddit at all. My MacOS is new - I recently formatted the HDD and there is nothing in the system except Brave and Telegram. Please. check attached file. Thanks in advance)
Brave Support guidelines for submitting a bug report (Official Brave Help Center article):

PS: A “top site” or “favorite” (either pointing to reddit) might be lurking somewhere, and something (a scheduler of some type, or a promotion thing) issues a periodic command for the browser (or default browser) to visit said “top site” or “favorite”.
Thanks for your responce.
Did I make a bad report? Should i write any additinal info?
P.s. MacOS is new, Brave is new. I never opened Reddit. I don`t have Reddit in my list of "favorite"or “top” sites. What do you mean saying “periodic command for the browser”. What can make that command? Thank you)
Example of a good report:
How to stop the settings cog wheel icon from disappearing in Brave?
Such organized reports, help Brave Support to more carefully and quickly determine how to proceed, instead of their having to stop and study: trying to break down a report that is not structured as they prefer . . . into pieces, so they can follow steps and see what happened, when, and where . . . and are thereby constructing the report into the form they need . . . instead of the original author doing that work.
Do not sweat it; just apply your self to the form that they prefer.
Your current description, “My MacOS is new” could mean, that you or somebody installed a “fresh” version of MacOS on a Mac that could run that version.
You would help Brave Support by providing info from your Mac computer’s overview. Up in the left-hand corner of your Mac’s display, click on the Apple icon and select “About this Mac”.
Helpful info:
- Version of your MacOS
- Model of your Mac computer
- Graphics
Please do not provide a screenshot of that whole “About this Mac” window. (IOW, DO NOT provide any name of partitions/drives, nor your computer’s serial number.)
Best way, in my opinion, of providing the Brave Browser Version, is for you, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to:
brave://version
Provide the first four lines of info:
- Brave
- Revision
- OS
- JavaScript
The OS will somewhat match what you provided in the previous request of mine.
So, overall, the info lets us know more precisely, what we might expect to find and where . . . and therefore, helps Brave Support to ask more precise questions.
Because, from my point of view, so far, what you have provided, sounds like the Mac computer is not new, and the MacOS installation was made to improve/upgrade the Mac’s operation.
In that kind of refreshment of the system, easier to understand that some lingering “thing” could be processing a scheduled task . . . leading to Brave Browser visiting the reddit website, much to your surprise.

My MacBook is old, but I formatted the hard drive and installed the latest version of MacOS. After I installed Brave and the problem was there almost from first day.
Let me know if I need to provide any additional information. Thank you
