Description of the issue:
It doesn’t seem to be possible to toggle all search suggestion categories.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Enable “Show autocomplete suggestions in address bar”
- Disable all checkboxes under it
- Begin to type in search bar
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Some autocomplete suggestions are shown (Complete with extra information on the subject)
Expected result:
No autocomplete results are shown
Reproduces how often:
Always
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Linux, Version 1.77.101 Chromium: 135.0.7049.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I only want bookmarks and history to show in autocomplete so as not to leak what’s typed into the address bar, but the appearance of other results raises eyebrows. Are these pulled from an external source eg. brave search or are they stored locally somehow?
When I disconnect from my network these suggestions disappear. This implies that whatever I type is being sent to some external service. I do not want that.
