Although I configured the Sidebar button to show on the toolbar, and Show Sidebar = on mouseover, nothing on which I hover the mouse pops open the Sidebar.
Occasionally hovering somewhere on the right-side opens the Sidebar, but it happens so rarely that I don’t know if I was hovering on the right-side of the document window, atop the scrollbar, or atop the right edge of the program window (which is a very narrow target).
While I have rarely seen the Sidebar popup when hovering somewhere right-ish in Brave, I can never get it to occasionally appear on a blank new tab (or the home page which is configured to use the New Tab, and where new tab = blank). Hovering over the Sidebar toolbar button does popup the Sidebar.
On just what am I supposed to hover the mouse pointer to pop open the Sidebar?
As you the mouse towards the border of the browser window, the side bar will display. Note that you can set the sidebar to appear either on the right or left side of the browser window. You can also use Ctrl + B to show/hide the sidebar at any time.
Nope, moving the mouse cursor from the middle of the document window towards the right side of the document window, or over to atop the scrollbar (if a web page is loaded), or over to atop the right edge of the window does not popup the Sidebar. For me, the “on mouseover” option doesn’t work.
I can use Ctrl+B, or click the Sidebar toolbar button, as a workaround to popup the Sidebar, but that does not address why “on mouseover” doesn’t work. I might as well as just set “Show Sidebar = Never” since that is how it behaves anyway with “Show Sidebar = on mouseover”.
I’ve seen users note problems with the Sidebar if displayed on the right-side instead of the left-side of the program window.
On mouseover - This mode will display the Sidebar only when the cursor is moved to the left side of the browser window. When moved away, the Sidebar will disappear until you move the cursor back to the left side of the browser window again.
Does “on mouseover” only work when the Sidebar is configured to open on the left-side?
