Have just swapped to Brave from Firefox. I imported bookmarks and passwords from Firefox. The only problems I find are that I have to open the sidebar every time I open Brave. Also when I have to open various + to get to the ones I want and they don’t stay open when closing the browser. Is there a solution? Plus, it didn’t import all the passwords.
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7; Brave version 1.69.168 (can’t update either any further on my Mac).
Why do you “have to open the sidebar every time” that you open Brave Browser?
And, what are “various +” ?
Mostly reference material for anybody who stumbles upon the issue while looking for help with the older MacOS and older Brave Browser . . .
Where Brave Browser has usually been installed on the Mac:
/Applications/Brave Browser.app
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/CrashReporter/Brave Browser ... .plist
/Users/username/Library/BraveSoftware/
/Users/username/Library/Caches/BraveSoftware/
/Users/username/Library/Caches/com.brave.Browser/
/Users/username/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/Brave Browser ... .crash
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.brave.Browser.plist
/Users/username/Library/Saved Application State/com.brave.Browser.savedState/
And the “Brave Browser … .diag” reports within:
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
You might not find:
/Users/username/Library/BraveSoftware
. . . do not worry about that.
That information is a guide, in case you decide to completely remove the Brave Browser installation.
