Description of the issue:
Sidebar isn’t loading, when I click on it a blank space appear instead, I’ve had this bug for about a week now, running on Hyprland, GNOME on Wayland and GNOME on Xorg
here are some example pictures
First on Hyprland
Also on Hyprland but with a website open
Next two examples are on GNOME Wayland, please note that GNOME on Xorg looks exactly the same
I’ve been digging around the internet trying to find if anyone else had the same problem, however I’ve only found one person who reported so
As you can see, this person is running windows, however the common factor here is we’re both using Arabic as language of display, so I suspect that might be the root cause, I tried switching my display language to English to see if that would fix the issue but I wasn’t able to do so.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Using Arabic as display language (speculation)
- Clicking on sidebar button or Leo AI button
Expected result: Sidebar loading correctly
Brave Version( check About Brave
): v1.77.97, however the bug appeared with v1.77.95
Additional Information: I’m on Arch Linux and use the AUR brave-bin package, but I don’t believe that has anything to do with this bug at it is also present on Windows.
Thank you very much for your help and before that for making this awesome browser
