Side tabs don't scroll

Side tabs don’t scroll. No way to access tabs below horizon.

Submitted this previously as a bug report. I don’t think it’s merely a feature request.

Using latest build, 1.69.153 for MacOS.

Scrolling with vertical tabs works for me without issue — also using macOS:

What happens when you try to scroll up/down on the tab strip?

Literally nothing: (1) scroll wheel on my trackball does nothing, (2) arrow keys do nothing; (3) moving cursor to top or bottom of list does nothing; (4) there is no scroll bar. The only thing that works is CMD-1 to go to first tab (etc) or ^TAB /^SHIFT-TAB.

@seinfeld,
Can you please go to Menu --> More tools --> Add profile, create an additional fresh profile, close your original profile window, then enable vertical tabs in the fresh profile and tell me if you see the same results there?

Hi, I did it, and your hunch was confirmed - with the new profile, the tab scrolling is working.

I wondered if turning V-tabs off and on again might fix the problem, so I went back to my original profile and tried to turn off vertical tabs - causing Brave to crash! After restarting, tried again, same crash! Cannot turn off vertical tabs.

:frowning:

Possibly related issue: when I restore a window with multiple v-tabs, they are all invisible - the sidebar is blank. If I grab the dividing line with my mouse and move it slightly, they then appear. This bug also did not occur on the new profile.

@seinfeld,
To me this seems like it might be an issue related to an extension you have installed — can you please try disabling them and then testing again?

I have 4 installed extensions:

Google Docs Offline
Google Scholar Button
Save image as Type
Url Shortener

I disabled them. Not seeing better results.

@seinfeld,
Can you also confirm that you have the Show scrollbar check box checked in Settings --> Appearance --> Tabs?

It was not checked; when I did so, the scroll bar appeared and now I can scroll by exactly 1 line up or down, but not more.
