I read this page: https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023646212-How-do-I-configure-global-and-site-specific-Shields-settings. According to it, I can disable the ad blocker for specific pages. This also works while browsing. However, after restarting the browser and revisiting the page, the ad blocker is activated again. What is the reason for this? Is this standard, or is there a way to view pages with ads permanently? Or could it be because I activated the “Forget me when I close this page” option under “Protection/Shields” (German: “Vergiss mich, wenn ich diese Seite schließe”) in the settings?
Do you have anything selected under “On Exit” here:
brave://settings/clearBrowserData
Also, please fill out the forms as requested:
(e.g. share your OS/Brave versions – as there was also a Brave update moments ago)
and could you be answering your own question, did you try to do it with and without the “Forget me when I close this page” setting?

That said,
This is likely the reason this is happening. Toggle the option off, then close the browser and relaunch and you should see all Shields settings [for that site] preserved.
I enabled all options under “brave://settings/clearBrowserData”. Disabling them didn’t solve the issue, but Mattches’ solution (“Toggle the option off …”) seems to work! After the first test, the page I wanted to view with ads was no longer affected by the ad blocker. Thank you both for your quick and reliable support! In the future, I promise to include all necessary details in the “requested information” section of my requests.
I guess you guys missed this amongst all the other stuff I said, but I’m glad you got it resolved (though I suppose I could have given a bit more guidance too
) the issue could be a few things so
never know
Indeed! But thank you as well! Your many words don’t make you any less likable.
