It looks like the only settings for the automatic tab suspension is brave://discards/
but those settings are not really enough.
It happens, that tabs with filled form fields are getting suspended which is a no-go. I lost a lot of writing due to this, since I had to jump between many tabs to create a ticket.
So either, I would like to deactivate the “built-in” tab suspension (I am using an addon for this anyways) or I would need the information, where I could make more settings.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Fill form in a tab
leave the tab alone for some time
tab get’s suspended
Expected result:
Either: switch of the feature
or: have a settings page with more advanced settings
From what I understand, this comes from Chrome not modified by Brave. If I understand it correctly, I’ll start suspending tabs when system resources (Ram) is getting low.
Any tuning of these settings would need to come via Chromium @undersound
ok thank you! I understand that this is not a Brave feature!
maybe anybody has an idea if that feature can be toggled, maybe there are some flags for it?
Having the option to better configure the tab suspension in brave would be great, like a power saving mode, that always suspends when unfocused, or also a performance/developer mode that never suspends any tab would be awesome.
Maybe also throttling the tabs scripts when hidden would be great feature, for laptop battery saving.
