See all cookies and site data gone missing

The selection is gone from the “Privacy and security” tab. Maddening when I want to delete just one cookie but my only option is to delete them all.

Release Notes v1.63.165 (Feb 28, 2024)

Not true. It’s still there, it just got renamed. It now is called On-device site data. It’s located at SettingsPrivacy and securitySite and Shields SettingsOn-device site data (under additional content settings). Or directly can just type in brave://settings/content/siteData

Thank you. It’s something I end up using a lot for some sites, so burying it down more clicks and the search not being able to take me there makes this a lot lot harder to use. I was thinking this morning I should find if there’s something to put a button on my tools to get to it directly. Why, oh why make this harder to use?

Actually, no, that’s not it!

There used to be a list of the cookies you had sorted by site where you could trash them individually. I don’t see that there.

This was something changed in Chrome/Chromium and just inherited by Brave. I have no idea why they change half the things they do. I’m guessing it was done in part because of the push to eliminate cookies…or at least 3rd party cookies. You can see more on that at https://blog.google/products/chrome/privacy-sandbox-tracking-protection/ and https://www.insiderintelligence.com/content/google-turns-off-cookies-30-million-chrome-users-that-s-just-1

Then I guess because of the negative thought of “cookies” to people, they just went about renaming to “on-site data”

Perhaps you’re speaking of brave://settings/content/all? You get to that list by going to SettingsPrivacy and securityThird-party cookiesSee all site data and permissions. (Don’t let menus fool you, just because you access under third party cookies doesn’t mean it’s showing only third party cookies…they do some weird and confusing things)

@Mattches you mind confirming for me whether that’s accurate on the list I’m showing above being all 1st party cookies? And if so, any idea why we have that hidden under third party cookies settings?

brave://settings/content/all is what @th3tick is looking for and it is only one additional click to reach than it was before (Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Third party cookies --> See all site data and permissions).

You can also simply enter brave://settings/content/all into the address bar which would be the fastest way to reach this page.

That’s it. Thank you both.

I just have a daily click limit and don’t want to run out!

And bookmark the page for easy access. I do that with all settings I use regularly.
