Search Tabs moved to "plugins" space?

Hi all,

I recently came back from 2 weeks vacations and upgraded Brave after a while, so I’m not sure when the change actually happened - but I see that “Search tabs” is moved from being integral part of UI, into a toggle that needs to be enabled, and it’s now positioned among “plugins”.

Not sure - is that intended change - but most browsers have that “drop down” search in right top corner, and after years of using it - I just can’t get used to this completely displaced location for search.

Is there a way to leave it where it was please, this is killing me.

I really don’t understand the benefit of removing that extra drop down, now it’s just empty useless space.

Thanks!

Hello! Thanks for the feedback. This was an upstream change from Chromium. Chrome shows the same button as well. https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/6363295

I don’t understand - I have latest chrome version, and arrow down is there, and search is in it:

Why in the world is that moved in Brave into the plugins and needs special toggle to be enabled?

Like, searching tabs feels so unnatural in “plugins” area instead on in/near tabs themselves.
