Search results not reflecting region and location set

Description of the issue:
When I search in Brave Search it doesn’t give me results from Australia (where I live). I have the settings set to Australia as the region, anonymous local results enabled and location manually set to Sydney.

I type a search query in (e.g. goat hair water colour paint brush) and I get results from UK and US. I want results from Australia to be prioritised at the top so I don’t have to type Australia in with my search query everytime.

What is the problem here?

In the Brave Search field (NOT in the URL address field), enter:

news site:ie

. . . and scroll down (skipping the “Top Stories”) the search results page. (Note: “ie” is country code for Ireland.)

Yes but having to put the country code at he end of every seaech kind of defeats the purpose of having settings set to a region for search reaults.
