Search for text when you start typing

If nothing is focused on a page and you start typing, the browser can assume you’re looking for text on the page. Why else would you start typing into thin air?

Why is this important? Because some sites listen for keyboard and snag the cmd+f. This makes it impossible to search text on a page.

Firefox has this nice option:

This is implemented in the chrome extension ‘Type-ahead-find’.

How do I get this option for brave? It doesn’t work since I made a windows update last night.
Thanks

I was looking for the same, it’s an extension ‘Type-ahead-find’. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/type-ahead-find/cpecbmjeidppdiampimghndkikcmoadk/related

That extension has permissions to read and write all data on all sites (and it can’t probably do its job without), so I would very much prefer a built-in option.
