Since March 29, 2025, the Search field is ‘sometimes’ missing in OneDrive online - this only happens in Brave, not in other browsers (although I don’t often use other browsers…)

It doesn’t really matter: the Search field can be there with the Shields enabled or disabled, the Search field can be missing with the Shields enabled or disabled.

No, I don’t think it’s related to the Shields configuration, since the issue can also occur with the Shields disabled.
Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?
Good question. The issue occurs in all Chrome-based browsers, and even in Firefox. So it’s more related to the site than to the Brave browser, I realize now.
