Rewards auto contributed to Brave Software Intl

I installed Brave (Version 1.74.48 Chromium: 132.0.6834.83 64-Bit) on a new computer (Windows 10), synchronized my profile and linked the rewards to Uphold. For some reason, however, auto-contribute was activated here, so that the browser sent 1 BAT each to Brave Software International three times within a minute during setup.

If I hadn’t happened to notice this by receiving an e-mail for each contribution, I have no idea how much longer the game would have continued. The only strange thing is that I wouldn’t have been surfing on any site during this time, let alone one from Brave, which makes me wonder why the browser here automatically sends BAT to Brave every half minute?

Is there a way to get these incorrectly sent BATs back?

@Chezar it’s always enabled by default on any new browser or profile you make. It has to be disabled. If you go to Brave Rewards you’ll see it, such as below. If not disabled, then it automatically takes out BAT each month which goes to Creators based on the websites you have visited.

And also can show like below for which sites were visited and the time spent, which is how it determines how your contribution is divided up:

Most likely isn’t “incorrectly sent” but is just that you have the auto contribution enabled.

Anyway, you can create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 to see if they can help

You’re right and this is fine to me. But I was still busy setting up the program on the new computer while it was already contributing. I couldn’t deactivate auto-contribute so quickly that it hadn’t already started contributing to Brave Software Intl. three times within a minute. And at that point, I hadn’t even had a chance to visit any sites. That is what made me wonder.
