Rename device in sync

Cannot rename device in Sync
Setup Sync after a system has been renamed.

  1. Install Brave
  2. Rename the system
  3. Setup Sync

Expected result: Sync should use the current system name in the device list

Actual result: The old name is used in the Sync device list. There is not obvious way to change the name.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.25.72 Chromium: 91.0.4472.101 (Official Build) (arm64)

I believe this is a known issue and that the team is already working on a way to change device names in the UI.

Is this the issue you are referring to: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/11769

It does not seem to be getting a lot of love. I guess whoever sets priorities knows about it. Anything else I can do?

The issue is set with as Priority 2, so I don’t think it will be put off for much longer. I’ve also gone ahead and added this topic you opened to the Github issue to let the devs know that this feature is still being frequently requested.
