Recent Brave update prevents me logging in to NETGEAR router

I previously had issues logging in to my Netgear router, but eventually resolved. However from yesterday I get an error message page as attached. The URL I have always used =http://www.routerlogin.net/RST_statistic.htm
but this browser automatically now sends me here:
https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/routerlogincom.html
Tried disabling SHIELD; no difference :frowning:
Additionally error page refers to wifi connection; for security this is normally turned off, as I use Ethernet; even switching wifi on makes no difference.
Any clues valued.

[Version 1.7.92 Chromium: 80.0.3987.163 (Official Build) (64-bit]
Netgear page I’m sent to (attached) says " You may not be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.com, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again."

I can access my Router using IE 11, and New Edge browsers.

UPDATE

Restarting my desktop seems to have fixed
But trying to log in again, it’s gone back to original error :frowning:
