Receiving many fraudulent advertisements

Description of the issue:

  • Receiving far more adds than configurated (5 every hour instead of 1 an hour as set up)
  • The adds I receive I can definitively mark as fraudulent or fake news. The links use logo’s of the Dutch state news channel (NOS) or a Dutch bank (ING)

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Browse internet and wait for an add

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:

  1. Less advertisements (in line with settings)
  2. Genuine adds of real companies

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
masOS Big Sur 11.0.1
Versie 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Officiële build) (x86_64)

Thanks in advance.

Based on your screenshot, most likely it’s a site notification and not Brave Ads @Nikw .

You may accidentally allowing those site to send a notification.

Can you check:
When on that site, click padlock icon in URL bar to see if you allowed notification from that site. You can check this from Settings > Site Settings too.

Wauw, you are right. I apologize, I usually don’t allow this. Must have been incautious.
Thanks for the swift response
