Receiving ads, but not sure I am receiving credit for ads

Briefly describe your issue:
Firstly I want to apologize for not being so brief, but my questions have been building for quite some time now. For a while now whenever I reinstall Brave on pc/laptop due to system crashes, I am unable to connect my account to Brave Rewards. I use Gemini and I am still connected on my android phone. I have searched other topics on the site, but cannot find a definitive answer to my questions. I tried the Always show Brave Rewards custodial connection options flag and was allowed to login but still not connect account. It appears I cannot connect/reconnect my account since I am in USA region even though I was able to connect before support for my region was stopped. Per brave://rewards-intervals on my android phone all appears ok with created profile at 01/2023, but Gemini shows first BAT deposit at 12/2022. But looking at rewards-intervals on newly installed Brave on windows 10 pc it shows new/different profile from android and it appears I am not receiving credit for shown ads. After reinstalling Brave I am getting ads, but am I receiving credit for the ads? Since I already have a Gemini account, can/should I signup for Uphold or any other available custodial account. Can I have/use both a Gemini and Uphold account? If I use Uphold on windows/linux, will I still get credit for ads on android? Is reinstalling Brave the same as resetting my profile since reinstalling creates a new profile? If I use brave://rewards to reset my profile, how do I connect same Gemini account to a new profile or can I even do this since I am out of region? Since all credits and accrued credits will be paid to Gemini, does it even matter if I have a new profile and/or different custodial account? How many profiles, connections to custodial accounts, devices and/or custodial accounts can I have? What are my other options for reconnecting to Gemini or using both Gemini and Uphold to receive Brave Rewards? Thanks for any assistance and again I apologize for being so long winded.

@jmsmall challenge is not necessarily in you not being brief but in the idea that you submitted it as one giant wall of text. It is helpful to create paragraphs to makes things easier to read. But as it ran together, I’m just skimming through and replying.

  1. Gemini is no longer an option. This means if you uninstall or reset, you’ll not be able to connect again. The only ones maintaining connection are for existing profiles that had been linked. Reinstalling is new profile/device as far as Rewards is concerned.

  2. Each browser profile or device is handled separately. Ads viewed on your phone have no impact on desktop and vice versa. Even if you have two profiles connected on the same device, they are hanlded differently.

  3. You won’t be able to connect to Gemini but if you’re in a country/state where Uphold is allowed as shared at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469 then you will be able to link to it.

  4. If in and from the USA, this part may not count much to you, but you may also want to read through PSA: Current and upcoming changes to Rewards and Creators to learn about on chain payments as another potential solution here in the future. Priority is being given to those in countries unable to connect, but still is there to check into.

Hi @Saoiray, thanks for responding to my inquiry. I did not even think to use paragraphs.

I am still a little confused about linking. I did the usual search and I am beginning to think it just refers to clicking the triangle on Brave and connecting to a custodial account.

I setup a new account using Uphold and all seems to be going okay.

While searching I see that you have to deal with a lot of duplicate posts/issues and it can be frustrating at times. I want to commend/praise you for your service and work to the community.

Thanks again for your assistance and have a good day.

@jmsmall Yes, linking and connecting are used interchangeably. Once your Rewards are connected to a custodial account, you should be able to earn and receive payments to that account each pay period.

I’m glad to hear you were able to connect to Uphold and that things seem to be working smoothly. I’ll mark my initial reply as the solution and close the topic. If you run into any other issues, feel free to create a new topic, and we’ll help you out.
