Hello for all.
I hope to set this in the right place. If not so, please move and filter where and how exactly you need.
Well, as you probably know, the Microsoft Edge and some more browsers already have the text reading an aloud option, so why Brave would not, but it will be better and customizable.
What I would add is the ability to pronounce and the selected part of the text, not just all the pages, with the possibility of saving as an audio file, at least for personal non-commercial use. The more supported votes and languages can be implemented, the better. Thus, except well known ElevenLabs, there are also some more similar freemium services, like
Fliki, ,
Narakeet, ,
Speech Generator, ,
TTS Free, Speedify, TTS MP3, etc, that less than for some supported languages offer their or use some other third party voices, except Microsoft’s and Google’s.
As a blind computer and phone user, I use a multilingual FOSS
RHVoice, ,
that is adapted in spite of synthesized and not very natural voices, and in whose further development I should participate, but I am not sure how appropriate for such implementations due to restrictive GPL license. Well known commercial products like Nuance’s Vocalizer Expressive or Acapela, however, I would not recommend because their “high quality voices” do not sound like as advertising, they are full of mistakes, they are sampled on 22.50 kHz and not very cheap.
Of course, this is just some idea to make it approximate as soon as possible. Let those who know more about this more and better than me be more conceived and more precise. If the beneficiary community could somehow help this option, even if only with some feedback for their language, and it will be good…
