QWANT as default search engine

Why is QWANT the default search engine in France and Germany but not in the U.S.?

Just wondering. (i.e., don’t Internet search engines operate globally?)

Hi @mk7z,
It’s my personal opinion.

Any search engine can be used in any countries, yes. But browser also can make many partnerships with search engines for default it in selected country/region. Because every region have different “preferred popular search engine”. Or in this case, because Brave and Qwant share same vision.

Other browsers also have regional partnership AFAIK. e.g. partnership with Yandex for default search engine for Russia, or Baidu for China, etc.

Or in this case, because Brave and Qwant share same vision.

Thanks. To switch the question around a little, why is that shared vision any less applicable for the U.S.?
