You are experiencing a quirk where the Quick Search setting in Brave Browser doesn’t stay off permanently. You toggle it off, but it sneaks back in like an overeager puppy. Fear not—I’ve got a few tricks up my digital sleeve to help you out:
Cookies and Safe Search: Try adding to the list of sites that can always use cookies. You can do this in the Brave settings under “Customized behaviors” for cookies.
Sometimes, this little adjustment can work wonders. It’s like telling your browser, “Hey, remember my preferences, okay?”
Just be cautious: If you clear all cookies (via “Clear browsing data”), this setting might also get wiped out1.
A Dash of Command-Line Magic: Let’s sprinkle some tech wizardry! You can disable certain features by modifying the Brave browser shortcut.
Here’s how: Find the Brave browser shortcut (if you don’t see it, search for it in the Start menu or taskbar).
Right-click on it and select “Properties.”
In the “Shortcut” tab, find the “Target” field.
Append --disable-gpu at the end of the existing value.
Click “Apply” and then “OK.”
This won’t directly affect Quick Search, but sometimes these little tweaks have ripple effects. Who knows, maybe Quick Search will decide to behave better after this! vanilla card balance
