Question related to Spotify

Good evening everyone.
I downloaded the Brave browser onto my Iphone today, primarily for use with Spotify. I used the Brave browser to to go onto the Spotify Web Player, however, whenever I attempt to play one of my playlists, it opens a new tab, that contains nothing but a white screen,with the URL “about:blank,” and this happens every time I click the play button on one of my playlists. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or knows what could be the cause of the issue, and how to resolve it.

Hello - What version of Brave on iOS?

Does this occur when logged into Spotify? Do you still see the issue after clearing browsing history?

According to my settings, I am using Version 1.78.1 (104). I am logged into my spotify account, and the issue is still persisting, even after I have cleared by browser history.

Hope this can clarify.

If you toggle Shields off do you see an improved experience?

@Evan123 just tested on my iPhone and can replicate the issue. Pressing play appears to do nothing but when check tabs it opened blank for each press:

  • Tried with Shields on or off.
  • Tested toggling option to allow external links to open in app just in case…but that had no impact.
  • Replicated in private tab as well

When testing the same on Chrome and Safari, issue did not replicate. Both were able to play with no issue.

This should be the fix and will roll out with 1.79x for iOS.
