PSA: Unsupported Region

This is not true. You 100% still can view ads and earn BAT. It’s not hypothetical. Where you’re limited is that you currently can’t connect to an exchange to be able to convert that to fiat (money) or other types of crypto. You are able to use it to tip Creators (which was the initial intent behind the project) or to save for when they do add your region once again. Also, if you end up as a Creator, you can use BAT to pay for ads.

Correct. If you ever took time to read the settings, you’d see that BAT doesn’t sync between devices. It says it all over the FAQ and, as I said, even the settings in your own browser when you create a Sync chain. Tell me where you see BAT as an option to sync?

Again, not true. Poland is supported for Brave Ads and Brave Rewards. It just is one of the many countries that was temporarily restricted in July as they are resolving a lot of issues with regulations and fraud. France recently was brought back and they are working to add Brazil and India next. They will keep going through and adding where they can.

Yes, they want Users to use this as a first source of information. I have been talking to them about trying to build it out so important information might show up in the browser itself, such as in a New Tab Page or in a little UI such as we have for Rewards. They are working to improve things. I will say they do always show it elsewhere than just the forums as well, but it’s usually more vague. For exampl:

You literally didn’t read anything in my Topic here, did you? The official notices, for example. They’ve announced it and had it pinned for a while. They alkso have it there on the Support pages, such as:

Of course, look at the bottom where is says:

Participating in Brave Rewards and Brave Ads does not require verifying Brave Rewards with a custodian. Support for verified wallets may vary by region and custodian. Please see here for a list of supported countries for each custodial wallet service.

Which of course brings up https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469 which they are constantly updating.

Maaah. Still waiting for México to be added soon. Do you think it could be before the end of this year?

Just a little question, sorry for the trouble. We really need more wallets to be able to transfer our BATs, that’s for sure Dx

(I don’t like Uphold as it tooks too much of our money… is like one of the most expensive wallets but meh… I guess that’s better than nothing at the end)

Oh really? I’ve only ever used Uphold and haven’t lost any money from them. In fact, all my transactions with them have been free. I guess it all depends on what you’re doing. I have pretty much only ever used it to receive BAT and eventually send it to my bank account. There was a time period when I converted BAT to things like BTC, but that didn’t last long.

Well, as you can see from the update I provided in this Topic, their goal is to add by the end of the year. Problem with goals is things can go wrong, so we can’t say anything definitively. But I can promise they are trying and working to fix all issues ASAP. Main delay is they are having to work with governments and lawyers, which never are quick. Then having to adjust everything in their programming and servers.

You should check out my new topic. Brave had some interesting things they shared with us, such as a new exchange partner that is in the works. There’s a LOT of good things that are making their way to us. It’s just a matter of having to be patient and deal with all the BS that seems to be coming about in 2022, lol.

That new topic, btw, is PSA: Things to look forward to. (Rewards/Wallet/Shields/Creators/Browser)

My Uphold account is German and it works but I cannot connect my Brave account to Uphold anymore. Is there any news? or isn’t German account supporting yet?

Hey, umm I think Germany as of now atleast isn’t on the supported regions for verification of brave rewards and hence not allowing you to connect to uphold. The uphold account will work in all countries but the Brave rewards verification works only in the supported regions. Hope this helps, cheers!

I try. It’s surprising they did not fix it yet. Originally they claimed only a few days to fix it, but it seems things are taking a little longer. Hopefully I will have more information after Tuesday, if they haven’t restored Brazil by then.

Sad to say this particular Brave Call had a lot of news on other things and we didn’t get much time to talk on Rewards. The update just was Brazil has been taking longer than expected and they are still working hard to restore it. They are currently waiting to hear back from Uphold on some of the things they are working on to get Brazil back up and running. Then they will be going straight for India next.

@Saoiray isso se aplica a Gemini Brazil também?

Unfortunately have to announce that Brave has paused the ability to verify with Uphold for anyone in Columbia. No idea why quite yet. But I do know that people from that region were having difficulties on occasion, so I think it’s been taken down to try to fix it for everyone.

Today this problem occur in Indonesia now :eyes:

any news regarding brave verification in the philippines?

Hi! I´m new in this Brave thing so I’m a bit lost. I’m from Argentina and few month ago I downloaded Brave in my computer and phone I used to receive the profits from both but now I just recive from one of them.
When I tried to fix I saw that uphold was desconected and I couldn´t reconected because it wasn´t authorize in my area, but I hadn´t have any problem before. Could you help me? Thaks.

@Lara_P Just want to let you know you’re asking this question in the very thread that answers your question(s). You’d know everything you needed if you had read it, instead of repeating the question again. So I will suggest you go read (not everyones comments, but my primary at the very beginning, which I constantly update.)

Short answer: You can do nothing. Argentina and many other countries aren’t supported right now. You can earn BAT but you can’t link to Uphold or Gemini. All you can do is be patient until they add countries again.

sad to hear that…
hoping it will be fix the soon.

Thanks for the reply sir.

@Saoiray hey I’m having issues with my Uphold account. I was in Germany when I initially opened my account several years ago, then I moved to Ireland and I never had direct issue with this. Last week when I was on vacation, Brave disconnected from Uphold, I thought it was related to my location but now I’m in Ireland again and it’s not connecting and saying it’s unsupported. I checked Uphold to update my address to Ireland assuming that it was the problme, I contacted Uphold and even re-did my verification with Uphold ( changed location and did verification once again ) but I’m still seeing this:
" Unfortunately, your Brave Rewards cannot be verified because your region is not supported for Brave Rewards verification at this time."
Ireland supposed to be supported country - what to do in this case?

Did this include sending the Ireland ID and/or picture of yourself? If so, how long ago? If fairly recent.

As you suggested, one of the major issues people have been having is a mismatch between their KYC info and actual location. If they still have your Germany passport or other paperwork associated with your account, then there would be issues.

Overall, it would be Uphold to speak with to verify they have the current info and that they can make sure it’s updated in the part the API uses to communicate with Brave.

That said, you may also want to create a Support Ticket here on Brave, but only do that if you know you’ve submitted everything for KYC/AML (which means includes photo ID for Ireland) to Uphold. This will just allow Evan123, SaltyBanana, or others to try to check things from their end as best they can. Just make sure in the support ticket you provide as much info as possible, including your wallet payment ID from brave://rewards-internals, the email associated with your Uphold account, when you updated documents/ID and which country they are from, etc.

I finished it this morning. Included my valid ID, did KYC and also provided Irish address proof. I’m not an Irish citizen, so I don’t have Irish ID. And I didn’t use my Irish Residence Permit because it wasn’t recognized by their OCR.
But according to Uphold it’s totally fine to use any valid ID and as long as my address proof is matching up with my location, they are able to update their information as well.

I don’t see the connection between my country of citizenship and Brave’s Ads. Why would Brave care where I born and got my citizenship while Uphold already did their KYC and verified everything with their process?
