Problems with upgrading my extension

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I have downloaded and installed Kurator from the Chrome store
  2. To upgrade the extension (access via bookmark manager, 3 dots to the right of search) I get a message that says you need to log in to chrome
  3. I am logged into Chrome, I can access my gmail, and when on chrome store I can see that I am logged in
  4. When I go to the settings page, I do not see the controls I see in chrome like “turn on sync”

Expected result:
I expect to go to the purchase page and upgrade the extension

Additional Information:
Search for Kurator in chrome store to find the extension.
When on Chrome Store the message shows I am logged in
In Kurator I get the message “Sign in to Google Chrome to get subscription”
