Problems with this year's Brave releases - 3,000 open tabs

I am used to working with a lot of open tabs. I have over 3000 tabs open at once.
Starting with version 1.75.175 the browser started working very slowly with so many tabs open

For example, now the browser takes more than 10 minutes to start. And this is not the only problem. It now takes about 30 seconds to bring up the tab list and so on.

I was hoping this was a temporary issue with version 1.75.175 But it is not so

I am currently using version 1.65.132 with update disabled. And everything works very quickly.

I also noticed that in the old version the size of files like Tabs_13385635837500877 was up to 100 MB. In new versions the size of these files has become more than 500 MB.

And the original Chrome has exactly the same large size of these files. The original Chrome also couldn’t handle that many tabs open.

I think with version 1.75.175 Brave has lost its advantageous differences from Chrome

3000 tabs is a lot! I remember reading about someone else who also used tabs in place of bookmarks. He would have hundreds of tabs open at once. Something happened and he lost all his tabs. A brave developer replied that tabs are managed in the cache and somehow, the cache must have been cleared. He recommended the user switch to using bookmarks instead. I know this doesn’t solve your problem but perhaps it’s time to start using bookmarks for those 3000 websites. There are so many though. I don’t know how one could automate it.

@gman that story sounds like it might be about me. I’m not a Brave developer, but I did give someone that advice recently while there was an active bug relating to tab groups. He lost 700 tabs as I recall. On the grounds that nobody can manage 700 tabs, I recommended using bookmarks instead of keeping so many tabs open!

I have also recommended an extension to several people who lost tabs. That recommendation stands even though the bug appears to have been fixed. The extension takes regular snapshots of all your tabs and lets you restore them.
