Power consumption on macOS

Hello,

I installed Brave on my MBP yesterday and noticed high power consumption compared to other app and especially Safari. I was just surfing a little and configuring Brave.

And advice regarding power consumption? Is Brave reducing battery life compared to Safari?

Not using any addon except password manager.

Is HW acceleration enabled?
Check Task manager in Brave (≡ → More Tools → Task Manager) to see where the usage is

Thank you for your reply. Yes hardware acceleration is activated. Should I deactivate it?

Also, most of the power consumption came from a process called Brave Browser Helper (Renderer).

Notice the PID numbers - you can associate a process ID in the top window with the same process ID in the bottom window.
